Teacher Interview

I interviewed teacher from the Birmingham area. He is history teacher and his focus is on government. I learned so much from this teacher. Even though he has only been teaching for a few years he is very knowledgeable in his field of study. One of the questions I asked him was about Professional development and if there was enough training for medical emergencies? He said there was not a lot of training for teachers because they had a nurse in a separate building at the school. He thought that every teacher needed to have a basic knowledge of medical training. Another question I asked was about the demographics at this school. He answered by saying most of the students at his school were about 98% white. The school is established in a very rural area and most of the students don't get a chance to interact with other ethnicities. I also asked him about unions and what role they play in the school system. He responded by saying they give teachers some protection against law suits and anyother infridgements. They also are teacher's advocates when it comes to government decisions on education.
